Cara is an author/singer/songwriter living on the South Coast of NSW, Australia.
Cara began writing children’s songs while watching her two boys grow up, drawing inspiration from the joy of childhood and her own love of reading to her children. Over time, she was inspired to bring some of her songs to life as colourful, interactive sing-along books.
Cara has spent most of her professional career working as an Occupational Therapist in both the United States and Australia. Her passion for helping others, combined with her love of music, creativity and children, has inspired her to create these special sing-along books—a dream that has truly come to life.
How it started
Cara’s first singalong book “The Ocean, Sea and Me” originated while spending time in and surrounded by the ocean and raising her two children with husband Simon.
“I have always felt connected to the ocean and love the feelings you get when you immerse yourself in that environment.”
Cara was born in Florida but continued her ocean loving journey to California, Hawaii and now Australia.
How it’s going
Cara teamed up with illustrators to bring her songs to life in book form. So far she has collaborated with three different illustrators bringing her songs to life on the pages of beautifully illustrated books, Ann Ngyen, Hayley Cradock and James Robinson.
Cara continues to write music and enjoys playing for children alongside her OT work on the South Coast of NSW.
